4th Grade - Deng, Xuan

About Me:

This is my fourth year at Orion Community as an upper-grade teacher, and I can't wait to start a new learning journey with all of you! I grew up in China and studied in New Zealand, the UK, and the U.S. for college. After reuniting with my husband in the Bay Area, I decided to pursue my Master’s Degree in Education with teaching credential from Santa Clara University. Later on, I obtained my Bilingual Authorization from UCLA.
As a bilingual teacher, I want to create a safe classroom where students can feel free to exchange their thoughts using different languages, share their emotions, recognize their talent(s) and shine in their own way.
Outside of school, I really enjoy taking care of my plants – I'm a proud "plant mom." I also like trying different sports and musical instruments. Spending time reading and hanging out with friends over the weekend is also something I really value.
