2nd Grade - Xu, Jiaying

About Me:

Hi! My name is Jiaying Kate Xu (徐嘉莹). I am so excited to teach our 2nd Graders at Orion! I was born and raised in Shanghai, China. I earned my M.A. in Education from the University of San Francisco, and completed Multiple Subject Teaching Credential at San Jose State University. This is my 9th year teaching lower elementary in Mandarin Immersion school. I enjoy teaching and watching my students learn and grow. I look forward to an amazing year with my kids!

Fun Fact: 
I have a turtle and his name is 乌龟师傅（Turtle Master). He is a vegetarian.
I enjoy cooking and baking. I made Tiramisu and Mango mousse cakes.
I planted fruit trees at my backyard. This year, I harvested some donut peaches and cherries
I enjoy all kinds of board games: Catan, Azul, Splendor and so on.
